So Happy Carnaval!
If the people of Brabant are famous for anything apart from their hospitable and congenial character, it must be carnival. In the month of February the carnival mania breaks loose in “Kielegat” (which is Breda’s name during the carnival period).

THE CARNIVAL PROGRAMME
Saturday 18 february:
14.00 uur: vertrek van Prins en gevolg vanaf Hotel van Ham naar de Grote Markt (Princes go for a wander)
15.11 uur: aftrap en sleuteloverdracht op de Grote Markt
(Exchange of keys)
15.30 uur: optreden Gebroeders Ko op de Grote Markt
(Gebroeders Ko concert)
Sunday 19 february:
13.30 uur: Brakkensliert (kinderoptocht) door het centrum met aansluitend bal en prijsuitreiking in het Chassé Theater.

16.00 uur: optreden Wolter Kroes op de Grote Markt

Monday 20 februarY:
13.11 uur: Grote carnavalsoptocht door het centrum
(Main parade)
16.00 uur: Optochtbal in het Chassé Theater.
(Carnaval ball)
19.00 uur: Prijsuitreiking in het Chassé Theater.

Tuesday 21 februarY:
13.00 uur: Bontjassenmiddag vanaf Café Muijseum

13.30 uur: Brakkencarnaval op de Grote Markt met poppenkastvoorstelling, wagens kijken, hossen en pannenkoeken eten.
( Puppet show, looking at the floats and pancakes)
15.30 uur: Optreden Lisa, Amy & Shelley op de Grote Markt
(Lisa, Amy and Shelly concert)
19.00 uur: Hossen, zingen en dweilen op de Grote Markt
(Clean up party)
20.11 uur: Afscheid Kielegats carnaval vanaf de Grote Markt met aansluitend
(Goodbye party)
Verbranding carnavalssymbolen Kiske en Mieske en vuurwerkshow in de Haven.
